Description
There is an Arab woman who is not mentioned in the media and who is not portrayed in film, TV and theatre. The self-thinking, the sexually liberated, the artistic, the entrepreneurial, the democratic - and the non-opressed woman. Where is she?
THE OTHER ARAB WOMAN struggles with an unwanted identity. No matter where she turns, she can find herself being met not as an individual, but as an anonymous representative of a culture and a religion. She needs to tell a different narrative, but which one?
On stage, she steps forward. Word for word, she disproves our prejudices about the Arab man and creates a testimony of a new self-portrait in front of us. THE OTHER ARAB WOMAN is here to stay.
THE OTHER ARAB WOMAN is a touching and brutally honest performance about female empowerment created by a strong artistic team of women. Directed by zlem Saglanmak, who won a Reumert Special Award for the successful production "HAIR ON IT"
